Short answer

LaRocco Roofing & Siding is a Bay Shore-based roofing and siding contractor serving all of Long Island — Nassau County, Suffolk County and Queens. We install and repair roofs, siding and gutters on residential and commercial properties, and we've been doing it here for 15+ years. Inspections and written estimates are free.

Long Island is genuinely hard on roofs, and not in one single way. A house in Montauk is fighting salt air and sustained wind off the Atlantic. A 1920s colonial on the North Shore has framing, chimneys and roof geometry that no production crew wants to deal with. A post-war cape in Levittown has a low-slope porch roof that someone has already patched three times. And all of them get the same February freeze-thaw cycle, the same nor'easters and the same summer UV.

That range is why we don't quote a roof over the phone. Fifteen-plus years working from Bay Shore across Nassau, Suffolk and Queens means we've seen how each of these houses fails — and we detail the roof for the exposure it actually has, not the one on the brochure.

What roofing in Long Island involves

01

Nor'easters and coastal wind

Sustained wind is what strips a roof, and it finds the edges first. We fasten to the manufacturer's high-wind schedule and pay close attention to eave, rake and ridge detailing on exposed and waterfront properties.

02

Freeze-thaw and ice dams

Long Island winters cycle above and below freezing repeatedly. Melt-water refreezes at the cold eave and backs up under the shingles. Ice-and-water shield at the eaves plus genuinely balanced attic ventilation is the fix — and the reason we always check your soffit intake.

03

Salt air corrosion

Along the South Shore, both forks and the North Shore waterfront, salt accelerates corrosion on fasteners, flashing and aluminum. Material choice matters far more here than five miles inland.

04

Old housing stock

Much of Long Island's housing predates 1978, which means lead paint is a real consideration on exterior work. We're an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, so those jobs are handled to the required containment standard.

05

Tree cover and debris

Oaks and pines across the middle of the Island fill valleys and gutters, hold moisture against the shingle mat and shorten roof life. It's the single most common thing we find on an otherwise healthy roof.

Our process

How we work in Long Island

The same five steps on every job, whether it's a cracked pipe boot or a full tear-off.

Free on-site inspection

We walk the roof, check the attic and photograph what we find. You see the same pictures we do — including the parts of your roof you can't get to.

A written, itemized quote

One clear number, broken down by material and labor. No pressure, no vanishing discount that expires tonight, no surprise change orders halfway through.

Permits, materials, scheduling

We pull the town permits, order the material and give you a firm start date and a realistic finish date for the weather we're working in.

Installation by our own crew

Property gets tarped and protected before a single shingle comes off. Most residential roofs are torn off and re-roofed in one to two days.

Clean-up and final walkthrough

Magnet sweep for nails, debris hauled away, then we walk it with you before we ask for final payment and hand over your warranty paperwork.

FAQ

Roofing in Long Island — FAQ

What areas of Long Island do you serve?

All of Nassau County and Suffolk County, plus Queens. We're based at 17 Angela Lane in Bay Shore, which puts us central to the South Shore and within easy reach of the North Shore, the East End and the Queens border. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call (516) 924-2050 and ask.

Are you licensed and insured on Long Island?

Yes — we carry the licensing and insurance required to work in the towns we serve, and we're happy to send current certificates before work begins. We're also an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, which matters on Long Island's large pre-1978 housing stock.

How quickly can you get to my house?

Free inspections are usually scheduled within a few days. Active leaks and storm damage get priority — call and we'll get out as fast as we can, and tarp the roof if it needs protecting before a permanent repair.

Do you handle town permits?

Yes. Long Island's towns and incorporated villages each have their own requirements and we pull the permits and meet the inspector as part of the job.
